The most infuriating part of this interview is when Beth Hillman says "students haven't sought to study at Mills" part of the for declining enrollment is the fact that Mills stopped recruitment programs, stopped recruiting internationally and out of state. Abandoned the alumna recruitment programs. Enrollment didn't just decline it was sabotaged.

Mills College had a "tuition reset" in 2017, to position it as more like a community college. As a result, expenses have exceeded revenues, creating a deficit. The answer is not "give it away to someone from the East Coast". Keep Mills College as a jewel of California, remove the failed leadership who have a different excuse with every TV appearance.

It's the end of a dream of an amazon tribe surviving without men winning the bread. Now the men really are needed to win the bread.

Hillman is so condescending. She has decided autocratically that this "new model" is the one for MIlls. The trustees gave up and the college severed the Alumnae from the college.
