The History of FNAF 3's Fake Teasers, Hoaxes and Speculation

Before the release of Five Nights at Freddy's 3, numerous amounts of fake teasers, hoaxes, fan-made trailers, theory videos, etc. for the game filled every crevice of the internet. Did this end up bloating the fanbase's excitement for the third entry, or just add more fuel to the growing fire?

Freddyland was a thing that, somehow, younger me believe was not only true but also that it would be a massive 3d game kinda like if Indigo Park chapter 1 and Last of Us had a semi-confined, animal baby.

Edit: I thought that the fan-made FNAF 3 trailer and Welcome to Freddyland were one and the same when they came out, for whatever reason.

I think one of the best things about BFPFilm's FNaF 3 game was that the animatronic attacks were scripted, based on camera flips. You can sit in the office and do literally nothing to win.

It’s still kinda funny how the hoax trailer basically predicted the location of Security Breach you know with the game taking place in a Fazbear themed mall plus the FreddyLand hoax is pretty similar to the newer Fnaf lore with FallFest being set up as a Fazbear themed carnival where the story of Fnaf started

I saw the fake fnaf 3 teaser probably hundreds of times, ever since it was first passed around, and I never noticed the puppet in the art.

This era of fnaf was without a doubt my favorite. Withered toy Freddy, withered toy Bonnie, withered toy chica, withered mangle, withered BB, Withered puppet, shadow BB, Golden toy Freddy, that gator animatronic, sugar the cat, the ice cream man, Unwithered Bonnie, android freddy (nexus drakeson), chrome Freddy, markiplier animatronic, sparky the dog, Phantom Bonnie, FNAF 3 Freddy’s mall, FNAF 3 Freddyland, Fnaf 3 fan made/The Return to Freddy’s, etc. etc. such a unique time to be a FNAF fan, that will never EVER be replicated again. I really miss old nostalgic FNAF.

This was literally my favorite "era" of FNAF, as it is also around the time I was no longer scared of it (1 was terrifying as a 12 year old) and started being curious instead.

God I remember this time. It was a special time before FNAF was played out and milked into oblivion and it honestly felt like the series could go anywhere at that point.

We all knew the story wasn't over it and the killer still had to face his divine punishment (and boy did he).

I was fortunate to learn about FNaF shortly after the release of the second installment and yes, the hype for the third game, the theories, and the fan content were flooding the Internet. It was particularly a good period for a 12/13-year-old when the impatience and imagination was rising and reaching their peaks. Good times
