Coyote Wall is a hike on the Washington side in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. Its about an hour drive from Portland Oregon.

Rated as moderate, this 6.8 mile loop hike is also popular for mountain biking.

Recommendations when hiking Coyote Wall:

Parking: Free parking. No passes required.

What to wear: Be sure to dress in layers. With the elevation gain, you may work up a sweat. And with the open views and the Gorge winds, it can get chilly. Also, be sure to bring sunscreen and a hat since there is no shade.

Time: According to All Trails this hike takes an average of 3 h 41 min to complete. Depending on your pace and how many photos you take at the top, be sure to give yourself extra time!

Food: You worked up an appetite, so head East on Hwy 14 for a short 8 minute drive into White Salmon for a burger and a beer at Everybodys Brewing.

I live in central California with Yosemite National Park in our backyard and my parents started taking my brothers and I camping when we were just toddlers. I retired 6 months ago and told my husband it's time to pack our little trailer and finally do some traveling and after seeing your part of the country, I think I know where we're going to start. Thanks for the nudge; I can't wait to get back to relaxing and enjoying nature!

This looks great!! My husband and I are in the Vancouver area for a short while while we recuperate from COVID. Do you have any suggestions for easy hikes? Flatter hikes around the three to four mile mark as that's about all we can handle right now?

Not fair…videos must be 30 seconds or longer! That’s like trying to eat just 1 potato chip
