I love this series. It is absolutely wonderful.

I do have to disagree that Leesha was overly obsessed with reproduction. Here is the thing in my mind. It is not a time period thing. It is a Setting thing.

The whole "repopulating the species" thing has been done very tastelessly in the past. I found Leesha to be a believable young girl whose young dreams of a perfect family are crushed by a gossip in an ultra religious hamlet. She knows what she wants in a relationship but fears that it may not be realistic. These are all things that happen all the time, and I thought they were written well.

I don't understand why wanting a family cannot be part of a "strong woman." Especially when that woman is dedicated to preserving and bettering life. That's what an herbgatherer dedicates herself to after all...

Also, she is not the only one that deals with the family issue. The Warded Man himself has major issues there as well.
