All those worried about bricking. I haven’t found any issues so far including errors with Bluetooth when it’s turned on. Take caution with updates but in my experience zero issues so far

Since the release of the FX3 in March of 2021, they’ve had firmware updates for DCI 4K, true 24p, anamorphic de-squeeze, and shutter angle. They’ve slowly made this a real cinema camera rather than the rehoused A7s III it was initially criticized for being.

Just got this on my fx30 and it’s a game changer for swapping frame rates. I had the muscle memory down for bumping up shutter and ISO but nice that it’s basically all done for me now

This video should come with a warning that says updating your FX3 may result in permanently destorying it. everyone who was lucky to successfully update it to the previous firmware had their cameras crippled by having options like NTSC grayed out (I think that's what it's called) as well as other settings i dont recall. Some also said that their fx3 started losing focus and started overheating when it never has before. Sony is charging YouTuber @camera nerds media $700 to fix his fx3 that bricked itself during an update. I would seriously take caution before updating the fx3 and ask yourself if potentially destroying your camera is worth the small performance bump. Some argue that they first 3 updates made no noticeable difference to its performance yet comes with so much risk.

I guess you can't use this feature if your recording to an SSD on your Atomos monitor? It's grayed out when trying to change it with the recording to HDMI feature...

What’s the pros of using shutter angle over shutter speed? I get if it’s a 180 angle you won’t have to switch shutter speeds when changing frame rate but that’s not anything game changing since the fx3 has settings it can instantly change to if you want to switch frame rates.

Just updated my FX3 and realized that the Sutter Angle option is not available if you are recording to the Atomos Ninja V. Is anyone else experiencing that?

As of 9/13 (and right now, 9/22) update is suspended because it was bricking cameras.
