If you travel to Australia you could see a Bearded Dragons during the day, basking in the sun on logs or fence posts.

The name comes from their destinctive modified scales which form spines along the sides of their heads. When disturbed, Bearded Dragons will often flee to a nearby burrow under a pile of dead vegetation and if threatened, they spread their spiny beards to reveal a pink inner mouth.
