In the pro music world single core performance is king. As is silent operation. For me as a producer and a composer the M1 has been a watershed event. It allows me to run around 31 instances of U-He Diva at the lowest buffer setting possible (32 buffer) for the lowest latency possible. To put that into perspective my 2020 iMac i7 by comparison managed about 6 instances. Diva is an analogue modeling synthesiser, before you ask. It's considered cutting edge in its approach to modelling analogue synthesisers and as such the performance requirements are extreme. Low latency operation is super important in music production and the M1 delivered a 700% improvement over Intel's finest in this context. And it's 13 watts. And it's silent. M1X sounds completely surplus to requirement for our use context but let's see what happens tomorrow :).

We will see all M1 both 13 and 16 inch macbook pro. Like m1 and m1x on 16 inch mbp with dedicated video card?

I'm really looking forward to the release of an Apple consumer monitor, it's rumoured they're working on that. My purchase would be the Mac Mini with M1X and a monitor...period!

personally i think that the macbook pro will get the m1x and then they will delay the others such aas the mini leaving it at the M1, otherwise whats the point in having pro machines

Amazing. This'll kill Intel, AMD and Nvidia, for sure, coz' they didn't innovate, even though they saw this coming, from Apple, almost a decade ago, when Apple started designing their own ARM.
