Incredibly engaging screenplay from a great dialogue writer - sorry to hear of the passing of William Goldman yesterday.

They were Red-Indian braves, the best trackers in the world, working for a sheriff's posse! The two guys needed to be tracked down as they had robbed too many banks. Raindrops keep falling on my head.

Butch: What if they don't follow the horse?
Sundance: You're the brains, Butch. You'll think of something.
Butch: That's a load off my mind.

They were Pinkertons, the famous private detective agency often used/hired by the Railroad and Banks to track down and eliminate notorious robbers.

I love this line, use it a lot. Can't claim credit, buddy of mine loved using this for sports. Especially when a favorite is losing to an underdog. Fits perfect.

I don't know. But they're somebody.

At this point it has gone from a western to a low-key horror movie. That super posse is a nightmare in broad daylight.

They could surrender to us, but I wouldn't count on it

According to one movie, they were a part of what were the Postal Inspectors.

This is Robert Redford's #1 favorite movie of all the movies he's made.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was the first (or second) movie I ever paid for to see twice. There were no video tapes or fuckin internet. It was all in the theater. The other was '2001: A Space Odyssey'. I was only 18 years old but I picked two good ones, didn't it?

I honestly wonder if Newman and Redford really knew who those guys were, even in real life.
