My HIV Story

This is my HIV story. I was diagnosed HIV positive in 2011 and became undetectable in 2014.

I've made this video to raise awareness, fight stigma and share my experiences of being diagnosed as HIV positive in the hope that anyone else in the same place I was 9 years ago may not see their diagnosis as the end of the world.

36 years, i have lived with this virus, I was told I would be dead in 2 to 5 years. but here I am 65 years old and no plans for my future, because I didn't think I would be here, You are young and you Must plan for your future and keep on living.

Beautiful soul. And for the rest of the people with HIV, don't ever forget that you guys are the same old you with or without the virus. You matter and are all loved by your family, friends and the same God.

I was diagnosed two months ago, some people dont feel any symptoms. I went in for a infection on my right foot that was caused by a bug bite and they couldn't find an infection source. I was then told they did a hiv test and i came reactive. I can still hear the Drs voice and the feeling of emptiness in my stomach. I wanted to end my life at that moment. Im lucky to have a supportive mom and sister who i have only told but not everyone is as lucky. Thank you for your story.

I can definitely relate to facing stigma from hiv. I've been poz since 2002. I was 19 then when someone intentionally infected me. I never thought I'd ever meet someone so evil. To those just finding out, you will live a long life. I've had it almost 20 years and I've been undetectable for the 18 years that I've been on meds. I just wish it wasn't such hell on dating! Not like I could accidentally give it to anyone since undetectable equals untransmittable. Wish ppl were educated about it. It's not so bad though really. Don't give up on your hopes and dreams in life and you'll live a normal life!

I would rather have HIV than cancer .
I lost my dad over throat cancer and he suffered terribly.
You live as healthy as any people with hiv nowadays.
Thank you for sharing your story 🥰

Great informative video for those who are newly diagnosed or engaging in risky sexual activities💕.
I’m having my own HIV scare due to a finger prick at work from a dirty needle. The sharps container on my medication cart was overflowed.
I am currently HIV negative it has been a little over a month since the incident. I know the chances of contracting HIV is next to nothing but it is still possible. I haven’t been thinking about it much...I will know my true results within a few months from now (the body takes months to develop antibodies to the illness) It’s too early to tell.

Hope youre doing well brother. Im also getting tested for HIV next month and ive had sleepless nights over it. I havent had any symptoms and its been about 1 year since contact but im still scared shitless.
I cant imagine how you felt... I hope youre doing better now and that you are coping. Peace
