This is one tough jacket. Made from the new Pro Shell from Gore-Tex, it really is a jacket you can depend on in the worst conditions. With features designed for mountaineers and bad weather, this jacket should be at the top of any serious outdoorsman's wish list.

I bought a kongur 5 years ago and the jacket overall is absolutely amazing in terms of cut and movement, the hood fits a climbing helmet and is fully adjustable, the pockets are large enough to fit maps and the storm flaps do there job.

But like most heroes they have a achilles heel, for the kongur it is the chest pockets, they let water in and i found out the hard way through breaking a new phone just after getting the jacket when i was winter mountaineering in Scotland. Then again 2 years later when i was walking the dog in the rain it broke a camera due to letting enough water in to create a small puddle in the pocket. Secondly if you look inside the cuffs of the jacket the first 3cms are not made of waterproof material and after walking you end up with wet wrists and any layers underneath will get wet in that area too.

Ow and a third i guess is the cuff straps are plastic/rubber which can break when you are in the cold -5 and below as i found out in Norway cross country skiing, but i think the newer versions are made of material now so i think that got fixed.

As i live around 2 hours from Gaynor outdoors i never made the journey to return or replace the jacket and worked around the issues by not putting anything in the pockets and putting up with wet cuff/forearms
