I bought this and there are a few notes to make:
1. Take care to put some insulation under the board so you don't make a short circuit. I just screwed a piece of plastic on the legs.
2. DO NOT CONNECT DIRECTLY TO A BATTERY! The load has no fuse whatsoever, always connect though an external fuse! If something goes wrong (and it can, see below) and you have no fuse, you WILL CAUSE A FIRE!
3. This board is not safe to use at 60V! This is the absolute maximum rating and if you exceed it even for a moment, it will short out the power transistor! I would not use it above 42V. I think this is due to the construction: the power transistor is connected as a high side switch and you can exceed the VGSmax rating on turn-on. Happened to me twice, but is easy to fix: Just buy a IRFP260N transistor and solder it in place of the old shorted one. The board actually has a space for a protective Zener diode to prevent this, but it was not installed on my board.
In short: Useful, but use a fuse and don't let it out of your sight while testing.

Thanks very much for this. I purchased one on banggood and had absolutely no idea how to use it. All the other videos had the rotary controls rather than the 4 pushbuttons which are labelled in Chinese. You saved me a ton of time, and this device is working really well for me. It was great value for money now I've seen your video and been able to test my DIY power supply heat soak.. A+++

Just bought this type but has newer firmware (V2.45). It was about 30mV and 20mA out but I figured out how to calibrate it and now I'm very happy with it. Works really well.

Gotta disagree about the Fake comment.I notice yours has a yellow cap under the display, (left side).Ones like that DO appear to behave properly, but others do not.I have 2 of them & once the reach the set voltage, they DO reconnect at full load.

Glad you are happy with it; I tried twice to get precisely your model, but what I received was always the variant & buyer protection failed.

I have this device that worked for a short time, and it stopped showing the battery voltage, and therefore its functioning. I found that the U3 chip is defective, and the inscription on it is quite illegible, so I can't find it on the internet where it can be bought. Would you please tell me what kind of chip it is and where it could be bought? Thanks in advance! We later learned that it was an 18 bit adc "CAK4". If you know where this can be obtained I would be grateful.

Did you test the other type of electronic load? The type with the fine and coarse adjustments potentiometers.
I just got one but very interested to know if you've tested it.

Hi. I got the one with black buttons. It worked once. Now with same settings 21V and 5.5A the load says 0 aftee start. Tried other batteries. Cabling is ok. Reset doesnt work. Help?

The thing about fakes is the quality of the components, as you said, it's easy to make one yourself, but it's not the same to build it using good parts or using knock off chinese cloned parts that probably won't meet the specifications of the originals.

I have a question can you use the load with a ac power source for example i want to test my Amplifieres for speaker because it think that it does not deliver the rated power and i want to make sure can i use it directly with the module or would i need to make a FULL BRIDGE RECITIFIER (electroboom refrence :D)?

I just purchased one of these units on your recommendation. Hardware appears very nice but firmware is CRAP.
Calibration is 20% in error. Time displayed is only 1/2 actual time, Amp Hour is half actual AH. If you program 10A system locks up. and wont turn OFF. It shows "OF" but still draws >10A. Power display is meaningless displaying 0W or 2.5W or 5W but nothing in between.
It appears I have a very early firmware version. Does anyone have a new firmware that I can use to reprogram my unit?

You should have left the unit to heat up for longer... Heat test is useless, we cannot know if it can withstand 150 W steady. Plus, the current error is not 8mA, but 80mA!

I WAS WONDERING WHY THE MAX POWER IT'S 150W?? OHM'S LAWS SAYS THAT p =V*I, SO IT'S SUPPOSSED THAT THE POWER WILL BE 600W?
AM I WRONG?

Unfortunately, you got the bad "fake" version. There is no original one, anyway there is a device looks like any of these DIY projects but with much higher quality and useability! I got trapped like you on this cheap version. May disadvantages in this version here. Very unprecise in voltage and current measurement. This version is not able to change current while running, you can do but the result displayed is nonsense, cuz they just take actuell current and multiply with time! This version does NOT support energy accumulation Wh! This version can not be calibrated! So all in all this device you have is a "fake" from a much better available one. You can see the differences one the right side there is a RS232 (rx, tx, gnd) connector. I have both devices and would never change them again. The "original" one is semi professionl in quality and use!!!
