Respect to both of them. I was not feeling DDP when he made those comments originally because I heard him say it live. He then said he never said it but then found out that all 3 previous African born champs had a major presence in Africa and still does for their particular country. Then he said he didn’t care that he said it which is why he apologized to Izzy and his parents last night because even though I don’t think he meant it how it came out it caused a major controversy. You don’t apologize for something you didn’t do. Regardless it was disrespectful to the natives and he was even getting called out by other SA for saying that. I respect that he apologized and I respect that they both buried the hatchet. It was a good fight

Finally some respectful words from Izzy and a start to getting some of the respect back that he lost with his behaviour and childish antics leading up to the fight. A champion doesn’t behave that way so I’m glad to see him being humble and respectful again. Good on you Izzy. Now as much as Strickland doesn’t deserve the next title shot, I hope he gets it and I hope it happens in SA and he gets his ass handed to him good and proper this time from DDP.
