Some of my ancesters had been Waldenses. They fled in the 17th century from Pragelato in the Italian alps to Germany because they were severly persecuted. They settled in the Odenwald area south of Frankfurt. During the reformation the Waldenses joined the Reformed Church. Their slogan was "Lux lucet in tenebris" (The light shines in the darkness). My ancesters had family names like Gaefelein, Just, Gaydoul, Jayme, Heleine etc. Some of this names have Lombard origin. Greetings from Germany

There is a story of two Waldensian men open air preaching in Metz France and they were asked who sent them to preach (Romans 10:15) and they replied "the Holy Spirit". Encouraging history.

Fascinating cycles throughout the last thousand years: recurring attempts to restore Apostolic faith and practices, attempts to crush these attempts by religious "experts, " new movements, more oppression, wider restoration efforts, more oppression, etc. Sadly, it continues to this day. But, as Christ Jesus proclaimed, not even the Satan himself can prevail against the true Church based solely upon the Gospel.

Can't be true since they kept the true Sabbath ("Saturday") and all the "jewish" = biblical feasts of the Tanakh. Sounds like a failed try of ocumenialism. TRUTH= the Messiah never founded a new religion.
