Does social media promote cults? In this podcast I'm speaking with Dr. Janja Lalich, a researcher, author, and educator specializing in cults and extremist groups. She’s been studying cults since the late 1980’s after she was in one herself for 10 years. She is the author of several books on cults and has been a Professor of Sociology.

In the full interview we discuss the specifics to why she believes the most passionate of Trump fans are in a cult-like relationship with him, specific strategies cults use to “reform the thoughts” of their members, what role social media is playing in modern day cults, and much more.
