I remember when Drake and Zeke always cranked this up at 5pm on Fridays on Memphis Rock103. Damn those were good days.

I am lucky enough to have this amazing album on CD, thanks to Mr. Rob Jungklas himself! I contacted Rob's label several years ago in an attempt to find out if Closer To The Flame was available on CD. In my email, I told them that my now Ex-wife and I chose Rob's song " To Be In Love Is To Be In Heaven" as our wedding song. They forwarded my email to Rob, who graciously replied and offered to make me a copy of his personal CD copy, which was never released! At my request he autographed my Album Cover for "Closer" and made me a CD copy! He also gave me a cassette version of his third, but never released album! "Closer To The Flame" is still one of my very favorite albums ever! Made even more so, by how cool Rob is as a human being! Thanks Rob!

This takes me back to the good old days when they played this on Rock 103 in Memphis daily. Love it! Brings back memories when REAL music was on the radio.

I remember this well. I spent a majority of my life Memphis before moving out west a few years ago. Rock 103 played this song every Friday at five o'clock right behind Glenn Fryes party town. This is definitely got the weekend started in Memphis and the mid south region. Thank you so much for this one.

Lived there 3 yrs and drove back and forth from the Blue Ridge to the Delta while my husband went back again to work a while. We love Memphis. Not one bad memory. This song came out first time we were there. LOVE!!

I haven't heard this song in 30 years! My dh and I were talking about songs about Memphis and one just popped into my mind. I remembered how much I loved it but I looked on several music streaming sites to no avail...I should have just came to YT to begin with!! Thank you so much for this video!!

Man, I had been looking for this song for years and years after it first came out. No one had heard of it but I recorded it off the radio one day and listened the crap out of it. So I've been digitizing all my old cassettes for the last couple weeks and ran across the recording I made back in '86, and I thought, hey, it's gotta be out there in the intertubes by now, right? Bam -- here it is. Glad to know I wasn't the only one who dug it, let alone HEARD it when it came out.
