sin(30°) is 0.5 (one of the values that every student should remember), and sin^2 + cos^2 = 1, therfore (6*sqrt(0.75), 3)

John, as a pilot when you are told the wind is 030/10 knots… that means the wind is from 030. So if the plane is at the origin the vector would be towards the origin not away. Wind is always given from the direction it is blowing.

<x, y>=<r*cos(theta), r*sin(theta)> GOTTA know that definition if the student is advanced enough to care about the result.
