Kay (Meryl Streep) and Arnold (Tommy Lee Jones) are a devoted couple, but decades of marriage have left Kay wanting to spice things up and reconnect with her husband. When she hears of a renowned couple's specialist (Steve Carell) in the small town of Great Hope Springs, she attempts to persuade her skeptical husband, a steadfast man of routine, to get on a plane for a week of marriage therapy. Just convincing the stubborn Arnold to go on the retreat is hard enough - the real challenge for both of them comes as they try to re-ignite the spark that caused them to fall for each other in the first place.

Just saw this movie and I think it’s one of my favourites now. Kay is such an endearing character and Arnold is REALLY grumpy. I love that they didn’t try to do cringe comedy and really took their characters and their challenges seriously. Everyone should watch it🥰

I'm an NFL fan, it's was about 330am couldn't sleep, when NFL channel went on commercial, I changed channel and ended watching - catching the last few minutes of this movie ... heartfelt and moving movie.

Seen pretty much all of Streep's movies. Stumbled on this one on cable. I believe it is one of-- if not her best-- acting performances. She has always excelled in creating a whole character but never better than here. The greatest living actor now.

I'm so glad i never watched trailers before watching the movie. This movie isn't sad. It's actually inspiring. There are many times i was actually laughing/giggling. I dunno maybe i just like a story about a couple trying things to make their marriage work. :)

Streep gives a beautifully shaded and layered performance. She is...well...gorgeous. The best part of this movie for me was Streep tearing your guts out with a smile. She plays against the script and laughs at tragedy. Gorgeous. Jones was Jones times 10.
