I've seen a lot of pricing videos and didn't expect much but this is actually pretty good. I've never done hourly rates and mostly fixed price. I've done some websites with a low upfront cost and monthly payments. They've worked out well because I choose carefully who I work for and unless you are negligent or raise prices a lot, clients stay for years because it's a pain to change. I agree that per-page pricing isn't a good idea. I've never done that. My clients usually have no idea how to build a website and when I tell them how easy and fast it is to add a page (with content and design potentially adding complexity) it builds trust.

Hi Darrel,

I am a business owner as well, and I have recently started offering web design services to my clients. Some of my friends are helping me in this business, but we have been struggling with the price. Although we have a pricing solution, I think this guide will be a great help for us. I understood several things from this video and I will definitely be upgrading my price guide after watching your video!

I'm retired now but in my company i used both pricing tiers depending on the size of the site and the client but I always started with a mock-up draft using stock photos and lorem ipsum content to give them an idea of what it's like. the draft was factored into the pricing so if they went ahead with the project I'm paid for it and if they dropped out I didn't suffer much loss

I also required a contract explaining they would pay in at least four payments and broke it down to what each step represented regarding the stage of the site. this helped me because in that contract it discussed additional pricing for modifications along the way so that if they wanted to make big changes I wasn't stuck working and not getting pain.

after full payment they would get full access to the site and all of their domain and hosting passwords etc. worked well for me.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on pricing. I use Custom Pricing & SetUp + Monthly Plan Pricing (None of the other pricing strategies).

The method I use is literally a flat rate per product on e-commerce sites. So agree a price per product that covers product page, description and SEO. It also covers the cost of misc. pages I started that when I got caught out badly by a customer who just kept adding products and as my word was my bond..It also deals with price objections. Them: "That's a bit expensive" Me: "Dude, you're selling £1000 armchairs, remember this cost is one time, per item, no residuals or commissions ongoing" They soon see the cost benefit and know the more product they put up the more it costs.

With the onboarding process, clients feel safer and we know exactly what to charge without getting overcharged as well Clients have an Idea of what they can expect in their budget

Darrel Bro, you must do a video on managing invoices, legal agreements, and the onboarding process with tools

how's that sound man?

Excellent presentation I am planning an AI chatbot for the presentation of the program and its pricing. I think it's good. a person will be well armed knowing what I do, my portfolio, and my pricing structure and should have enough information to decide before even talking to me.
Your choices were good for me, because I did not even know some of those you presented.
Seriously good job.

Hi Darrel! Thanks for all these awesome videos. I have questions about how you organize working for multiple clients after you build their websites? Do you have a video going over how to track, monitor, and maintenance a growing clientele? I know in another video you discussed an SEO platform that makes it super easy to add multiple websites and get reports. Do you have videos or is there any way to consolidate hosting, ESP, domains, and all the backend stuff under one easy hood? Or am I a dreamer?! Thanks.

Can you explain or made another video about what is "basic SEO optimization"? What should be included when you offer this to the client! Than you.

I keep on coming back to this video for a refresher. and it feels good. I just hope Darell will get to read this comment. I wanted to know how I can price for reconstruction of a website. Like, they already have a running site, but they're not happy with it and wanted to have an upgrade. Can we consider that like creating a new website? even if i am only applying a new theme that works well with their plan in mind. the site is in wordpress btw.
