take a look at Carly Rae Jepsons Call me Maybe and the interplay between strings and vocals for a sweet prime example of this

a song having two vocalists doesn't necesarily ALWAYS make it call & response.
but it's just so sweet i had to include it.

Now THIS is an ad. If Youtube played these kinds of videos for ads, I'd be 10000% fine with it.

Skrillex is a great example of an
artist using call and response in
his melodies :)

I don't know why YouTube saw fit to recommend your channel to me, given I have no experience or expressed any interest in electronic music production, but I am just loving your videos. Great explanations, funky grooves and such a unique approach to showing the audio as well! Love it dude!! ❤

This sounds like a catchy commercial that I’ll never remember what the product was but will always remember the tune.

Oh yeah, I’ve noticed this a lot in the melodies I’ve listened to. Reminds me of some film melody and music structure tips I learned. Binary (A-B) is simple enough, but you could also use period form (ABAC) for a typical 4-bar or 8-bar phrase especially if you have a chord progression loop with some kind of cadence to either repeat the phrase or transition to the next melodic idea. Sentence form (AABC) is also a nice extension to the binary form and adds forward momentum.
As long as you have some musical idea(s) repeating (mostly several calls), you have something memorable to stick to your listeners’ ears.
