About 6 months ago I worked on an estate that was a 12, 000 sft mansion for only a million. Its was move in ready and spectacular. A visit with the heirs revealed what it took to run the house. Those 3 acres of manicured ground was 3 full time yards people, plus the pool boy, plus a staff of 2 to clean, 3000-4000 dollar electric bills and 30k per year property tax

The house was a deal that would bankrupt most people from operating cost

If this isn’t a saying that the American market wants beautiful architecture with well thought out intentions instead of the basic suburbs we’re stuck with at least half of the market, what will it take for everyone to ask for more? Not saying everyone can afford a mansion in general, but there is a hype because of the value it has historically as we’ll as what it means to a local community. I think the Ren’s have helped tremendously for restoring the home to its original glory, and glad they kept it in the 1910’s period cause I personally think that was the height of beautiful homes the US made before manufacturing took over the industry. If anyone has studied architecture from that period it’s easy to see this family did their homework.

Whomever gets the property is going to be lucky imo, they don’t make homes like this anymore.

This is an amazing restoration. This was not easy. I rented a house like this (about 2/3rds the size but still pretty huge) as an office for 7 years. I've been out of it for almost 10. It needed what this guy did to this house and is now vacant and slowly rotting because no one is willing to take on the renovations needed. He said this is a labor of love because it has to be.

I can’t believe this home is $750, 000. Where I live, in Vancouver, B.C., you could barely find a one-bedroom condo for that price.

I suppose it's one of those places that owns your rather than you owning it but all the restorations seem to be done and even though I can afford it, the real question is what would i do in Wheeling, WV. I hope someone buys it who's interested in the same way these owners were.

My niece lives in an older house, just like this one, but smaller. Its gorgeous from the outside but the bills are astronomical. Its one headache after the other! Good luck to the new owners!

$750k is to little where I live you cannot even buy a three bedroom house for that much less nine. I get that a lot of places in America do not have the same price of living, but it should be worth a lot more than that.

Amazing! I’m on less than 2 acres, mountains of western Canada, custom built 6-year-old 2000 ft home, semi rural. Worth a third more than this. As I said: amazing!
