When I grew them down in Roseville one year, it was really cute, they got to about nine feet tall, squirrels climbed up them bent them over so they could harvest the heads :-)

I just ordered all three varieties. I haven’t planted many flowers in the past, mainly vegetables. This year we planted a mix for cut flowers and to attract pollinators. That area is now my family’s favorite area in the garden. It’s even more popular than the strawberries and blackberries. We’re drawn to that one row. So it seems, they attract gardeners, not just pollinators. And as we all know: the best tool for the garden is the gardener. To that end, I’m going to plant a whole row of your sunflowers and build on that experience.

I'm in South Texas and today I planted a row of sunflowers in my garden. I was wondering how late I can plant these glad to see someone else planting them now! Thank you!

I just found your channel recently, and subscribed! I’m from S.D. Zone 5, and we have many gorgeous sunflower🌻fields across our state. If you ever travel I-90 in late Summer, it’s a beautiful site!! I don’t personally have fields, but I do have a fruit and veggie garden. I scatter some wild flower seeds for pollinators, and I’m doing 3 kinds of sunflowers around my yard and garden this year. I wish I’d of known you sold seeds, before I ordered mine! I’ll have to check and see if you have a catalog, but either way, I’m definitely ordering seed and etc from you soon, for next year. Great video!! 👍🌻🐝

Can I plant sunflowers in with other cover crops such as rye and peas? We have some growing after we bushhogged the acres. I would like to do some sunflowers and possibly corn and squash. In a no till method.

What’s the advantage to the soil. How does it feed the soil. I figured it would be pulling nutrients out. Granted you get a nice biomass of flowers and seeds. Or is it leaving the roots in the ground at the end whats improving the soil.

Travis. How do you think it would do, if I broadcast sorghum sudangrass and then planted sunflowers in rows in the same plot. For a covercrop cocktail.

Travis I am just above yall in ga, I have rock hard ga red clay. I have amended it with lime, sand and two different cover crops (buckwheat & clover). My clay has not loosened yet. Any recommendations for loosening up the clay? I have been told to use wood chips.
