A very well done report !
For anyone interested in knowing more information on the history of Sumas Lake /Sumas Prairie there is a fantastic book called “One Foot On The Border” . Probably the best reference you can find on the former Jewel called sumas Lake. I used to live there myself in the 1980s.
I’m lucky to own a copy.
My condolences to everyone out there and all the thousands of animals and millions of poultry that died.

Just an excellent informative video ! Great work! With your background in Geology and familiarity with the region; your videos are so informative.
The helicopter clip with their wide; 360 degree panoramic view explains so much. Media’s (MSM) repetitive clips which only show what they wish us to see with their narrative is so biased. Thank you so much.

Thank you for this explanation of why this happened. If this is the lake returning will the government try to
“empty“ it again? This is scary.

Hope things eventually gets better I’ve heard that it’ll take a month for them to get the Bridge built hope that’s true.. but more than likely not..

I'm wondering why the Nooksack River doesn't naturally flow north into the Fraser River. Or worse, could it change course in the future?
It makes Sumas, WA and Sumas Prarie, BC sound very vulnerable.

Best solution would be to keep the "new-old" lake as a buffer for future floods.
I can see now, why so many dutch people settled there....they were used to similar
conditions below sea level in the Netherlands

Which way does the Sumas river run? I thought it ran south to north and emptied into the Chilliwack river. Are you saying the Sumas lake was not drained by the Sumas river before the drained the lake?
