Continuing to affirm himself as a pinnacle figure within the realm of drum & bass, Grafix is back with yet another solo smasher featuring the vibrant vocals of Chrissie Huntley, the voice behind his previous dancefloor smash on ‘UKF10’ - ‘Break The Cycle’. Following on from the successes of his recent releases including ‘Distressed’ and ‘Zephyr’ (feat. Ruth Royall), the versatility of Grafix’s style beams through as he strays from his grittier sound to deliver energising melodies and uplifting vibrations on ‘Onyx’.

Ambient pads wrap around Chrissie Huntley’s resonant vocals from the offset before electrifying sonics crescendo into a drum & bass explosion of feel-good chord stabs and rhythmic synth plucks. Grafix’s latest cut implores dancefloor sounds and euphoric melodics, setting up ‘Onyx’ to be a futuristic D+B anthem saturated with an irresistible bassline and on-point drum work.

2020 has been a defining year in Grafix’s career. His journey as a solo artist has flourished off the back of the development of his individual sonic identity, with past singles receiving support on radio from the likes of Rene LaVice, Danny Howard, Charlie Tee and Mollie Collins. Not to mention securing himself a Beatport Drum & Bass number one with ‘Acid Generation’ and a legendary collaboration with fellow Hospital titan Metrik on ‘Parallel’, all whilst kickstarting his widely popular bi-weekly livestreams where he exclusively showcases brand new music from his Bristol studio.

Man, Tony or whoever that guy is that runs hospital records sincerely knows how to executive produce. I've listened to the records released from this label since I heard red mist from Danny byrd back in the midnight club/ myspace days and the quality of the dnb and other closely related genres are always top notch. I really wish dnb was more of a staple over here in the states.
