Let’s make baby soap with unrefined Shea butter and olive oil

As this Sunday is fathers day i thought id place a video on here instead of our chat so that i can spend some time with my husband and chat to my dad lots on this special day.

PLEASE NOTE - I HAVE RE LISTED THIS RECIPE AS THERE WAS A FEW QUESTIONS WITH THE OTHER SO PLEASE FOLLOW THIS ONE.
This soap does require a long cure time but is a beautiful creamy blend.

Recipe: THIS IS FOR A 1KG RECIPE
Water 260 grams
Lye 126.84

shea butter 250g (25%)
olive oil 750 GRAMS (75%)
2-4 drops lavender essential oil

Thanks for another great video. 😊 Do you check your lye water temperature before adding in the other oils or is the heat transfer method good enough at cooling your lye down. I find myself waiting and waiting for the lye and oils to be similar in temperature before blending.

Hi, love watchi g you. I have just made my first batch of soap, i am most happy that i found this baby soap video as my skin is very senitive, so i am going to try this one. I used the ice with the lyeand i dont get that fumes, it still get warm

The lye amount you mentioned and poured doesn’t match the recipe you posted, unless I am missing something… what is your temperature recommendation for blending?
