In page 54 of Diary of a wimpy kid Old school the lady on the extreme right is wearing a black shirt.
however in the very next page the same lady is wearing a white shirt

my idea is: The "First Canon" occurs during the first DOAWK up until Long Haul, when it ends, the "Second Canon", the Ongoing one starts from Old School to the end of the No Brainer school year. And in the final book, Greg might discover being in a time loop and try to escape from it by collaborating with his multiple versions from different books. That would be such an epic finale than just graduation but i think the relatability will be thrown out of the window.

He is supposed to go to high school from the Old School because if you carefully look at the order of events his 8th grade ends in Hard Luck and Long Haul is just a summer story. So only the first 9 books make sense, chronologically

If you still add up the months after old school, somehow he might be in 10th grade by The Big Shot but he's still portrayed to be in middle school

Some middle schools start in 7th grade and 6th grade is elementary in some districts

I think he's doing the journals for a high school/ college writing project so the rest of the books are just his middle school memories. Also 16 is the age for Sophomore year
