Lets call it microservices so that we can start using NodeJS 🤓

Gotta love working with people who don't know anything.

Probably cause he only knows JavaScript.

Proudfully confusing JavaScript and Java became a clear hint that HR is full of idiots.

Always rewrite in javascript. No matter what.
It will take at least a year to do so; afterwards several years of maintenance; then another rewrite in something that actually works for the specific business requirements.
You will have at least 4 years of guaranteed employement :D

Ummm excuse me it should be written in Rust

Fucking front end developers, I swear they have a JavaScript sanctuary where they pray every night

"Sorry, I messed up and wrote it in assembly instead 😇"

It’s easier to just do what they say.Just answer as “sure i can write that on JS, will reply you in about 1-2 years when im done”

“Cause I do feel like you’re going to yell at me” 😂 😂 god I wish I could use this at work

Bro did a 3-week crash course on nodeJS and thinks he's a software engineer

I'm so glad I'm a Gen X developer. I say what I say, and yelling at me gets you a time-out and a beautiful speech on how you don't know anything.

The expression and body language given when you said "it's just that the ʷʰᵒˡᵉ app is written in Java" is just so satisfying for some reason😂

Yknow sometimes when i meet someone who is insufferable I wonder to myself what theyre like at work/home... and the obvious answer is that theyre still insufferable.

Write it in machine code to make your job secure

Some time ago we had our whole rust backend get wrapped in a nodejs web backend that had the rust backend as a web assembly module or something because of just a single library for working with LLMs. I found a different lib that was rust native, removed the whole JS bullshit that was mostly proxy for the rust backend and made it all-native rust. It was still a docker container because that's how we deploy to a 3rd party service but it also made building and testing the nodejs+rust backend atrocity easier as well.
Oh and also the backend went down from using almost 100% of a CPU thread on idle to barely a percent or two. Benefits of not having useless overheads I guess.

OMG, I'm ready to hire you already! I need more senior engineers with some common sense. I don't care about Java vs JS vs Python. I just want to make it work.

The character knows the difference between JavaScript and Java.

I was fighting the JavaScript wave, trying to explain that something like Rust is better. After tons of back and forth I was told that Python will be used.

Who the fuck that has any coding experience tries to change an app language whilst not a critical need.
