To relate hilariously my education math wasn't that bright but in math I had strengths in multiplication and adding. In my elementary years, I was timed for 2 to 5 min and I was always the first one done. And then middle school year, I was good at the substitution method and I got done with my homework within 5 to 10 min. Anyways, penny is kinda like me but for sheldon I think the problem with him is that he has too much education information inside his brain and at that point you just forget how to do simple elementary math

i'm still looking for an explanation of sheldon being so bad at basic math (and IF it was intentional) in a couple episodes he fails bad at basic math, the ones i specifically remember, when he tells Penny she is driving to close, then starts doing the math for weight "this car weighs 4000 pounds (probably not) i weight 130, you weigh 125... so that's 4, 450 no.. it's not, it's 4, 255.. (i may have the numbers a bit off, but he was off adding 3 simple numbers??? was that intentional, and for some reason not explained (that i ever saw) or did NOBODY working on the show actually check the math?
but also, she didn't really beat him at math, she beat him at not falling down when dizzy, which should be easy for her really, she is used to being drunk.... and also she's a blond so always dizzy. (i kid.. stupid blond joke)
