As an English person I’d say that ‘normal/slicing cucumber’ is a courgette. Great for roasting especially with other Mediterranean vegetables or as a pizza topping. Whereas the ‘English cucumber’ is great for salads & sandwiches or to use in sushi.

What about the flavor of each one? I find that the English cucumber is a lighter, sweeter and all around has a better flavor profile than regular ones, flesh and skin. However, I do enjoy regular cucumbers during season.

I’d like to know which variety is the smooth skin “mini cucumbers” from the supermarket.
I have been growing cucumbers in my backyard, it is just labeled as “slice master”. Tired to grow the “pickle” variety as well. while it is “mini”, it is nothing like the “mini cucumbers”...too many spikes and sometimes bitter.

I thought the wrapped one was Lebanese cucumber. I had no idea there was something called "slicing cucumber". Our normal cuke is fatter with light green to white skin
