Astronomers Shocked! Hubble Sees Evaporating Planet Getting the Hiccups - AU Microscopii b

Hubble Space Telescope spotted an evaporating planet that appears to be having the hiccups.

Located just 32 light years from earth, this young star called AU Microscopii is regularly spitting out super flares, some 100 to 1,000 times more powerful than our Sun coupled with extreme ultraviolet radiation.
