Squares woven out of coffee bags can be used to make all kinds of baskets and bags. All you need to connect them is string (such as a gift wrapping string) and a needle or stick to thread the string through the hinges formed at the edges of the squares. Stunning bags and baskets woven out of coffee bags are unique, practical and durable. And of course a great way to recycle used coffee bags!

For the weaving you need:
- empty coffee bags
- cardboard or paper (e.g. cereal packs are good)
- ruler
- a pen
- scissors
- clothespins or other clips
- durable wooden sticks or knitting needles

To join woven pieces, you need:
- string (e.g. gift wrapping string)
- a needle
- scissors

The ends of the cords are carefully melted with a lighter. Be careful not to burn them or anything else! Only plastic materials can be melted. If you use natural fibres such as cotton, it will burn and not melt.
