*For those who are wondering why F5 quarter tile placement would be used instead of Alt placement (free placement)* 😀 F5 placement is much more useful when you want many items to line up exactly. For example, the new modular sofa pieces need to be placed individually. If you want to move the entire couch back a TINY bit, F5 placement will allow for the pieces to line up and snap together perfectly on a quarter tile. Another example is if you want to raise your kitchen cabinets up SLIGHTLY, it is far easier to press F5 and bump them up a quarter tile and have them snap perfectly in a row, rather than manually Alt place each one of them. 😎

Hold down alt and place the item wherever you want. Press 9 to lift an item and 0 to lower it. The triangle brackets let you change the direction of floor tile patterns.

Note for international players: the keyboard commands mentioned here only work on English keyboards. I’m Swedish and my keyboard is therefore made for the Swedish language and my size up and size down keys are completely different from the ones mentioned in the video for example. So if these don’t work for you then you should test yourself on your keyboard to see which keys corresponds to the commands you’re looking for! 😊

I already knew about F5 but if you haven't tried it yet, it's gonna change your life. Big gaps between the sink and the toilet? nope. Night stands are too far away from the bed? dont think so. Cats and dogs windows being too low on the wall? no thank you

I knew all of these tricks. Note: the shift key tip works on all items except debug items. Not just plants.

It's not just + with the - you can go back the color. :)

Tip for ps4:
1. 0:03 when you place the item press □ and it will show a panel to select colors

2. 0:13 Press L2, L1, R1 and R2 at the same time and then press the d pad (left will make it bigger, right will make it smaller, up with raise it down will lower it)

3. 0:25 Press R2 to do this, and if you press it one more time you can place it anywhere

4. 0:41 Press 🔺️ and when you place it down another should appear

I was only familiar with two of these (using brackets to resize items & holding down the shift key to duplicate items). As a builder that almost always wants things perfectly aligned, I'll definitely be trying that quarter tile placement😍

For console, what I know is this:

1: I have no idea how to cycle thru swatches before placement.

2. For PS4, hold L2 and R2 while pushing left (for sizing down) or right (for sizing up) on the d-pad. It's the same on Xbox, except L2 and R2 are called LT and RT.

3. On PS4, cycle thru L2 until you see "Free Placement Enabled" pop up on your screen. Same with Xbox, but L2 is called LT.

4. It says on your screen to press triangle (for PS4) or Y (for Xbox) in order to "place multiple", but in my experience that rarely works and often ends up just ending placement. So idk this one either.

Definitely knew these, but had forgotten most of them until now. I regularly use alt placements but it's nice to know I could do it that way too!
