What do you guys think of Powerlabs giving you the ability to control your engine bay lighting on the C8 Corvette? Definitely a feature I think we should have had from the beginning! 😁👍

2 years later, the easiest way to do this is by removing the seat belt cover on the side panel. No need to detach the larger panel set. Great review of the product!

I control my engine bay lights with the doors and the remote access fob. They are not the factory engine appearance package. They operate off the access lighting.

I agree, this should've been included w the factory package. I actually spent some time seeing if I could turn it on through the infotainment when I first got mine;felt cheated for spending so much on the appearance package. So is the rear defroster on along w the lights? I feel $75 is a bit steep for just a module. You can get a whole led kit (adding more light, color options, and full control) from oneuplighting for less. But as always, thanks for sharing all your upgrades. You're an asset to the c8 community.

I went ahead and ordered mine today,
I'm also a little concerned about the defroster being on all the time that you have the engine bay light on which it will be, but I'm also pretty sure you can disconnect the defroster wires on the rear window.
Then you would not have to be concerned that the defroster is running because it won't be on as long as you don't have a warning on your DIC, you should be good to go.
I have never ran my rear window defroster in Phoenix Az.
I'm still trying to track down a tail light or license plate light wire to tap into for the lights I already have a set of small accent lights to install, but so far I can't find any easy access to any wires.

Wood be neat if they offer more lights that the user can choose any color they want. Like a red color that pulses like a heartbeat.

Hi, I added some aftermarket leds strips that change colors with a remote control. Not real crazy about them, runs on 4 AA batteries. I had suggested a couple months ago on someone’s blog, they asked about suggestions for updates to 2021, and I suggested a separate switch to control the engine bay lights. The colored leds are pretty cool, just not sure how long batteries last. Will find out next summer. Thanks.... keep up the good work

*First*~ Justin thanks for the tutorial on this! I was one of the first batch receivers to get this harness and just wanted a video for the install. Now that you’ve done this I’ll need to find the box that contains it. I too thought the ‘Engine Appearance Package’ gave you the option to turn the LED’s on when at least parked and this indeed gives you that. My biggest fear was pulling panels! I feel a little better about it after watching this. Also I’ll be emailing you soon on my side skirt option. We chatted about it and you shared the ones you saw on that one at Carlisle but I think I’ve found some even better than that and should have them in the next week or so along with a splitter, both in CFB, and I never heard back from RPI so I gave up. 😎
