Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida with 155 miles-per-hour winds and 18-foot waves, causing epic destruction. News reporters were in the thick of the storm, wearing baseball helmets for protection against projectiles. Weather Channel's Jim Cantore had some close calls after almost being struck by lightning. Much of Florida is closed down, including the state's famous amusement parks. Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld are all shut down.

I'm in North Orlando and it is heading our way. Tonight and tomorrow will be wild. We've been through it before and we'll go through it again. It comes upon us in a few days and it will pass in a few days. Let's be good to each other. Neighbors working together. Take care of our Seniors and teach the young ones how to deal with Mother Nature. Hunker Down!

I’m in Tampa Fl && it’s not bad here. High winds. Minimal rain. We still have power also. Down south is worse. Ft.Myers beach area completely under water. Being born and raised in Fl were born knowing about hurricanes etc. prayers to everyone. Glad hurricane season is almost over!

I'm in Florida right now, thank God I evacuated to somewhere where it's not flooded, but my prayers go out to the families who got heavily affected in any way by this hurricane.

As someone who tracks tropical weather, this is the worst possible scenario for this storm . For the record it was supposed to weaken to a cat 2 or 1 before land fall north of Tampa. Wishing south west Florida a quick recovery from this catastrophe

I’m in Miami.
Ian is no joke. The gusts of wind keep shaking my windows and we’re only getting the outer bands of the storm😮

I’ve been living in Orlando for the last three-years now, and this is my first time I ever been in a hurricane. Before, I’ve dealt with tornadoes, severe storms, floods, and snow/ice storms back when I lived in Nashville for 21-years.
