Steven Price has been behind the scenes in movie music for movies from Lord of the Rings: Return of the King to Batman Begins to I'm Not There to Little Britain. But it was on Scott Pilgrim that he started getting serious about composing for feature films and has since composed the score for Attack The Block, The World's End, and now the mega-hit, Gravity. He spoke to David Poland about his career.

The most innovative sci-fi soundscapes since Gil Mellé's Andromeda Strain. He deserves the Oscar like no other on the nominees list.

Steven seems like such a nice guy and extremely talented as well

Exactly my point. David gives us insight into people who generally get snubbed by the mainstream press for not being interesting for the general movie audience, and that's pretty great.

Thanks for the interview. I loved the soundtrack, it worked extremely well with most scenes because there were no sound effects so the soundtrack took on the function of sound effects as well :)

Success happens to the nice guy here. Has humble with humor. Score was brilliant in the spaces ( no pun intended)

God it would be so nice to see one of these with David Fincher one day. Or even a couple.

Alfonso Cuarón, David Heyman, Steve Price, great interviews DP.

How about the VFX supervisor Tim Webber ?

I like these "behind the scene stars" interviews. Who in the general audience cares about music editors or composers anymore when there is George Clooney in the movie.

He's definitely a guitar player, lol, look at the nails on his right hand. None on his left.

Awful 'score' for "Gravity". Comparing 'it' to Gil Melle's "Andromeda Strain" [a work of genius] is akin to comparing tin to platinum. The interviewer, David Poland, is a rank amateur.
