Regarding time series vs cross sectional data, what would be the measure of association for each? is it prevalence for both of them?

Please explain each item in very simple language. Never more than one sentence and no complex lingo. Math is always the hard unless people would just say Cross sectional are random population samples and is therefore assumed to be independent. Cross sectional cannot be assumed to be independent. Then go into the nitty gritties that math people love like creating a new language with numbers. @benlambert
