Just an idea for next time if you need room … raise the bed SOME and have drawers or storage for baskets or books underneath. My daughter had a 8x10 room when we moved after divorce so I built her a double bed when she was 4, about 4’ off the ground. She’s now 23 and has the same bed. She doesn’t play under there anymore (lol). She uses it for storage.

I put my old bed on risers and could slide plastic storage containers underneath. I now have a bed with 6 drawers on each side. It comes in handy!!!
