iPhone 16 Pro Max 24 Hours Later: My HONEST Thoughts!

I've been using the iPhone 16 Pro Max for 24 hours now and my thoughts on it are a bit mixed.
The new camera control button is cool - but it does have its downsides. It's more time consuming to find what youre looking for compared to just touching the display. I only find myself using it to open the camera and thats it.
Battery life on the iPhone 16 Pro Max has been *excellent*. When Apple said its going to be the best battery life out of any iPhone, they werent kidding. As far as the new 48mp Ultrawide camera, my thoughts on it are a bit mixed.

Ah, classic Apple: selling you a phone today with features you can’t use until next year, like buying a car with "future flying capabilities" that’s still stuck in the garage. It’s like getting a plane ticket to a vacation, but the destination hasn’t been built yet. They should call it the iPhone “Soon”—where half the excitement is waiting for the stuff you actually paid for to show up, eventually. Maybe by the time your phone actually works as advertised, you’ll be ready to upgrade to the iPhone 17—which, spoiler alert, will come with even more “coming soon” features!

The 17 ProMax will be better suited for AI features. It’ll have 12 gb ram & the camera design on the back will be different. It’ll also have a larger battery.

Same, I only use the capture button to launch the camera and the quick video. That’s literally it 😅

Exactly, I managed to try one at the retail store…man, the learning curve to use the button sure is steep 😂😂 …it’s so not Apple…If I were to buy one, I don’t see myself using it a lot

This new iPhone will be good like every year but today, it's a no go.
AI features will not be available in Europe before 2025 and we don't have an official release date. 👎🏿

I'm sad everyone is forgetting about Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL too. Pixel deserve more love.

It's a _lot_ faster too (CPU/GPU/NPU), so you can game without the screen dimming or overheating.

It also charges faster, and it's now got Wifi 7.

It also has spacial audio and better speakers, and the new photonic pipeline lets you customize your pic styles and tones both in-camera and in post, and allows for 4K Cinematic mode as well as 4K 120.

I'm a patient guy and am willing to wait for Apple to roll out Apple Intelligence features when they're ready for prime time, gradually over the next year. It'll be like getting a new phone every couple of months.

I find this quite interesting. Apple's usual and original design philosophy was to make phones with the least number of buttons and be thin as possible. This goes against that philosophy. It makes me wonder what is going on internally from a design perspective. Either way, I'm glad I have my Z Fold 6 and I just keep my iPhone 15 Pro for Apple Eco functions (Apple Card payments, verify ID, Find My, etc.). I haven't had a SIM in it since I got my Z Fold 6, I just use WiFi to access those functions. Thanks for the honest first impressions Mark!

The camera control button is a gimmick. For Apple to make it sound so great is equivalent to putting lip stick on a turd and then apple somehow thinks they changed what it is.

We're at a point where companies are going to release iterative updates year over year, and really only innovate once every 5 years or so. Like cars, the smartphone business has matured.

I agree, the camera bottom is not as practical as just tapping the screen. For me I will only be using it to open the camera or as another action button. Hope they add screenshot to the list.

After seeing the 16 reveal, I decided to upgrade my 11 Pro 64gb to an excellent condition 15 Pro Max 1tb for under a thousand dollars. I got the 11 Pro used 3 years ago too. I’m pretty much set for the next 3+ years. I tested the new camera button and everything said in this video was spot on. They basically added another notch island on the screen lol.

But what cases are those, Torras 360 cases? Thanks

I tried the camera capture button at the Apple store and it was so clunky and very easy to blur photos.
