Correction: it only travels 20% the speed of light and it will take 20years to reach alpha centauri and 4years to return(so total 24years round trip).

EM drive was designed by a little guy called Roger Shawyer in a shed in england in 1998. Nothing to do with NASA im afraid.... Also, I'm extremely unsure how we're supposed to get to Alpha Centauri using it, due to it's inability to produce enough thust to put out a tardigrade's cigarette. Xx

This goes against Einstein's theory of relativity or at least tries to break it. Near the speed of light, the mass of an object becomes infinite and so does the energy needed to propel it, how does one get past this paradox?

We can go as fast as we want in space but unless we have some type of shielding in front of the ship, we're not going anywhere.
