"apt-get update" just updates the package list, it doesn't upgrade anything.
You have to do "apt-get upgrade" after to actually upgrade the packages.

the "copy paste" config that is generated in the influx UI is useless, since its NOT applied and stored in the telegraf config.
Its only applied when telegraf ist started manually in the shell.
if this is stoped and the proper telegraf service ist restarted, it has NO configuration

One question sir. Im trying t start CLI within Amazon free tier EC2 AMI machine, when typing influx, which should be the command to start CLI, it just throws help page, which is not what i want. I need to create a DB to connect it to Grafana which is running on the same instance. I have made sure that InfluxDB is running by checking with sudo systemctl status inflxdb, however i cant engage with CLI. Please help
