Dr. Sugai Reviews: CoTZ Sensitive SPF 40 Sunscreen

Highly anticipated review of CoTZ Sensitive SPF 40 Sunscreen with only zinc oxide! After dealing with the big news about Purito and their SPF 19 testing in two laboratory settings, here is a nice refreshing reset to the world of sunscreen discussions.

As you may know, I am a huge fan of mineral-based sunscreens and the majority of the sunscreens reviewed here are mineral-based with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide (ie I reviewed SuperGoop! Matte Screen before Unseen which is chemical-based). CoTZ stands for "Containing only Titanium and Zinc." The big question is: Does this zinc-only sunscreen leave a white cast?

I’m black. And this sunscreen leaves absolutely no cast and blends into my beard and gives it a nice shine. This is my holy grail. All other mineral sunscreens either take 10 min or longer to rub in or are just too ghostly. I stan!

Cotz Flawless complexion tinted spf 50 is one of my all time favorites. It is a bit more dewy than my number one favorite DRMTGY tinted spf 46, which unfortunately has Oxtinoxate but that doesn’t bother me. Awesome review!!. Thanks!! . I am curious to try Elta MD UV Restore and UV Elements, which are both physical.

I have oily skin and love this! My dermatologist told me it was ok to mix my mineral sunscreens with the layering method. I use this then wait for several minutes then use my Australian Gold mattifying sunscreen. I blot with my beauty blender and dust with a mineral powder sunscreen on top. Easy to reapply. I am in my 30's and was recently asked if I am even old enough to drink. Tehe.

Love Cotz! I’ve also enjoyed the spf 40 face primer one. I noticed the package does not say “non-nano” zinc. Is that a concern?
