Can I just say Jodie actually looks so good in 12's tattered clothes. Even just the waistcoat looks especially dapper on her

I love how the beginning "hum" part is like a homage to the 9th Doctors theme! It's like the Doctors theme evolved from mysterious/damaged from the time war to then bombastic and hopefully, and now she carries both a sense of adventure and mystery with her.

It’s criminal how underutilized this theme is.

I’m finally realizing my main critique of this series.

It didn’t give Segun a reason to play this theme in full.

Maybe it’s in the New Years Special, but hearing that iconic Doctor’s Theme humming by the end of this video, I see an incredibly powerful and captivating moment of Thirteen in complete silence doing something amazing and walking straight toward the camera. It’s just not happened yet. For a Doctor not to get their shining exemplary moment in their entire first series is a mistake.

I really miss hearing Murray's themes he was very much a massive part of the show as the Doctor was. As 12 brilliantly said, Everything ends and it's always sad, but everything begins again, too. And that's always happy. Be happy. Segun is a great composer and I look forward to hearing more of his work.

As a music student, nothing pleases me more than a soundtrack featuring sound design as well as traditional instruments gahhhh I love this theme

Something I find truly delightful is that this theme is almost entirely in major keys. The Doctor has finally managed to leave her survivor's guilt over the Time War behind and has truly taken a level in kindness.

The more uplifting tone is a beautiful reflection of that, and it's well past time for it.

This really suits her... It represents all of the Doctors and her... it's like a link between the past and the new doctors but never really having much change in them. I also love that it sounds quite like ten's. Beautiful and uplifting. Doctor who... You guys have truly outdone yourselves

Goodbye Jodie, even though your Doctor suffered from mediocre writing, you were still marvelous, brilliant, fantastic. you gave the doctor a fresh new take that was a good and necessary change for the show

This needed to be used so much more. This needs to be 13's "triumphant" theme, like how A Good Man was for 12 and I am The Doctor was for 11.

Okay, this is pretty cool... what a pity it wasn't heard that much in the series. I definitely appreciate it more now that I hear it alone

As much as I miss Murray Gold, I really like the new composer.

I loved it when she saw the tardis materialize and the music played

This wasn't used nearly enough during Jodie's run. Maybe they'll use it when she regenerates.

i wouldn't say this series was bad but it just felt empty in the end. but i know every doctor suffered with this kind of stuff before when they started so i'm optimistic about the future.

There is a being whose deeds are spoken of in legend. Some refer to this being as “the oncoming storm” or “ the bringer of darkness”. Others prefer the terms “wise man” or “healer”. But all of those legends are mistaken in their choice of name for this being.

Her name is the Doctor. And that is all the name she will ever need.

I adore this track to infinite lengths. As a great commenter once said, it represents a sun rising at dawn. It’s a beautiful mesh between the past and the new, incorporating orchestral and atmospheric elements into one track. The OST this year has blown me away at how unique it feels. It gives off warm vibes which really enhance the scenes when required, but never over exaggerates them. Thanks for such a great soundtrack Segun and co!

it’s completely unfair to compare the two new who composers at this point i time. gold has 13 years worth of doctor who music under his belt, whereas we’ve heard only one series’ worth of segun’s score. for all we know, by the end of his tenure on the show, we could love segun even more than murray

She is a monument of compassion, forged in a thousand lifetimes full of suffering and loss. She will never forget those she knew; she will never forget who she was. But she won't let the darkness consume her. She will never stop being the Doctor.

Say what you will about series 11 but you can’t deny that Segun Akinola was on fire with his soundtrack! Definitely a worthy successor to Murray Gold
