Hi Jake I know I've been lazy with the comments lately. Just wanted to let you know I still enjoy your videos like every one. Keep up the good work, you're one of BMW community's gems. Really appreciate your videos.

POV is different, great, and useful. Keep it up this one was great! Good stuff dude. Draggy before and after is really useful too, puts a real world value to otherwise arbitrary items. I can see in future forums will be sourcing these for data and modifying direction/advice.

I just bought my 08 535xi in December of 2019 and I’m still getting the maintenance caught up. Thanks to you and one other guy ( BMW fanatic) I’ve been able to get my car running strong again. Keep doing what you do man.

I’ve got an 09 135i manual that I’ve decided to keep stock because it’s too good of a car
However I do wanna jump into modding N54’s and so decided to buy a 335i as my project car
As a beginner I’m sure I’ll be following your steps like on this car lol
Your tutorials are gonna help me a lot 👌🏻

I purchased a couple things from your links but you didn’t include the feeler tool. Might want to add that. Thanks for making a detailed video about this! I’m an absolute beginner and you make thorough easy to follow videos

Wow big difference after the walnut blasting. I need to do this on my new 335i. Plugs and coils too for preventative maintenance.

Precision Race Works has the best gap tool! Its just like the one you were using but fits both 12 & 14 mm spark plugs & has a gap opener in the back. It's pretty handy. I think it comes with the good feeler gap gauges too...👍🏁

I like the BMS cowl filters.... however, when I installed mine, every time it would rain my windows would fog really bad. I left them on for about 6 months. never failed, always fogged. switched back to the stock cowl and my windows haven't fogged once. only complaint lol. thanks for the quality videos man

Just did mine. Had a cylinder 3 misfire, swapped coils with #2 and the misfire followed. There was definitely some quirks to this job. That strut tower brace was really in the way so I had to move mine. Most importantly though the stupid plug socket I got from ECS wouldn’t fit any of my extensions. So I had to literally hammer one In and now that’s my permanent BMW plug extension. Also, I was also surprised that the coil tubes were at a slight angle to the plugs. The socket and extension don’t go perfectly straight in. I also had a scare with #6 - plug was WAY too tight. That’s what you get with a mystery used car though I guess. I’m an old school shade tree diy guy, haven’t messed with older cars in a long time though, 20 years? Was surprised that anti seize was NOT recommended. Back in my day in the 1900s anti seize was a must. Parts store guy had never even heard of it. Glad I googled it.

question; if my car is already tuned on whatever sparkplugs are in there, but i dont know the gap size, can i just check the gap size on the old ones or do i need to just find whats recommended and then re-tune my car? i dont know how specific the new ones needs to be gapped to make sure the tuned car is running the same. (im an n54 single turbo)

Nice work Jake! I just finally posted up my version of this DIY in 4K on my channel. One interesting thing to note is that the BMW workshop manual specifies a flexible extension or universal should be used with the spark plug socket to prevent potential insulator damage. In the real world it's not really necessary if you're experienced like you and I, but thought it was worth mentioning in the DIY for others.

Can’t say Index 12’s lightly these days they cost more than the car did.

Curious as to why you would go with the ecs tuning/bav auto coils when fcp sells the eldor coils for cheaper? I skipped ahead in the video so maybe I missed a sponsorship or something.
