direction given in the problem is north-east and not north to east...however direction considered appear to be south east and not north east in the above problem....may pl check

induced emf will be 0 because area vector and magnetic field are at right angle, not at 45 degrees. Because both are on different planes and these planes are perpendicular to each other, irrespective of the inclination of magnetic field lines on their plane.

The question says that the coil is placed vertically in the east west plane. So the angle between area vector and B is 45° itself. Its just that the diagram in the module isn't 3d so one can confuse
