Turnover on Audiotree Live (Full Session)

Turnover is a former emo/punk band whose newest release “Peripheral Vision” is a standout release echoing a transformation in the scene itself. Like cohorts in Sorority Noise, Citizen and Superheaven, they’ve managed to transcend punk and emo stereotypes to create a unique style while building a following of fans who loved them for their original sound. The record itself has a constantly humming echo that pulses throughout. It’s steeped in 80’s reverb and textured with layers of cosmic, contemplative noise. Lead vocalist, Austin Getz’s voice is steady and optimistic but his often somber lyrics reflect mental exhaustion. Sorrowful guitars banter to one another with quick, spacey riffs while the rhythm section provides a backdrop for the song to groove in a steady clip.

Listeners who are familiar with old material are sure to be transfixed by the change; hearing remnants of old songs buried within their stark evolution. Turnover is constantly touring and have opened for bands like Major League, Have Mercy, I Am the Avalanche and New Found Glory. A diversity of tone and influence allows for them to fit within tours made of off-kilter lineups and attract fans from across the genre spectrum.

Check out the performance by Turnover on Audiotree Live.

Recorded on August 11, 2015 in Chicago, IL.

The part on Hello Euphoria where the backing vocals harmonizes with the “and it pulls me in…” it’s just perfect. It just speaks to my soul for some reason.

They’re one of the few bands that changed their sound and pulled it off with flying colors. Sucks that the rona put their tour with jimmy eat world on hold

I live in Hollywood and there's a theatre literally 4 blocks from my apartment. Im always looking to see any good artists, but didnt recognize anyone for the foreseeable future. I randomly clicked on these guys and have been loving them so far. Just bought 2 tickets for the December 3rd show. Looking forward to it!

Both Audiotree and KEXP are known for top-rate studios/engineers that give every band the best sound possible; it really really makes all the difference. Kudos! The hosts' banter with the band gives the engineers time to readjust equipment for different sounds. This perfection doesn't just happen by accident. AND we get glimpses of the band's personalities.

i remember when this album came out. it seemed like everything was lining up in life and then chaos engulfed my entire well being. this album still gives me happy thoughts and memories. now I get to sing to my daughter all the songs that got me through some hardships
humming is probably my favorite to sing to her :)

Total accidentally drifted upon Dizzy On The Comedown on YouTube auto-play and had to get up from what I was doing to see who it was. Been really digging their music since then, about 3 months ago.

The best album for me! I was a bit late to start listening to them—began just this year when ‘Cutting My Fingers Off’ was suggested to play while I was at a beach in Sanur, Bali, listening to Spotify. It has been one of the greatest discoveries of my life, and I’ve been listening to them every day since then.

Great band but I also have to compliment the interviewer. Ive seen him in a bunch of these and he's really good at making the band comfortable and has a genuine quirkiness to him that endearing. Fun stuff
