There’s a lot of pressure for a professional sports team to choose the right nickname. You can’t just change it whenever you want. It has to appeal to your millions of fans, and it has to stick long-term.

Some NFL franchises, let’s just say, failed this mission. Others did an okay job, while some passed with flying colors. Without further ado, let’s dive into our rankings for all 32 NFL team names, from worst to first.

TPS literally said Dolphins was a bad name because they are nice. But Dolphins are a staple of Florida and Miami in particular. Then they say Jaguars is a bad name because they aren’t found in Florida and thus aren’t a staple of Florida. But Jaguars are ferocious and powerful animals. What the hell do you want then, TPS?!

The Bengal Tiger name is a more unique name for Cincinnati weather than using a basic Tiger name. It's a strong tiger that roars stronger than any other tiger in the jungle

Panthers is actually a really good name for Carolina since the Panther is one of the signature animals associated with North Carolina in particular even though the animal is sparse now. So, it's a tribute to the animal itself.

Actually the Cincinnati Bengals have the coolest name. Because Bengals in Bengalese means Bānglā/Bôngô বাংলা/বঙ্গ.

The fans in Cincinnati actually chose Buckeyes to be the name of the bengals but Paul brown stuck with bengals. That probably could’ve ended in a lawsuit by a certain college if they went forward with it
