Taal volcano located about 65 km from the capital Manila of Philippines erupted two days ago and could lead into catastrophic events. I share my thoughts and experiences living around volcanoes before in Iceland.

I admire you Finn and Sherlyn for being sensitive to what's happening now in the Philippines!! There are other vloggers that are laughing ang making jokes about it on social media (cough Baninay!!) and I am very furious about it!! Filipinos might be resilient, but only because they have no choice, but if we sympathize and help them in any way, it is gladly appreciated!!! And one more thing, as much as possible, do not donate money! Donate goods instead! I just saw Matteo G. on IG that they are sending relief goods from Landers, so if you want, send your unused clothing to Landers or buy a piece of grocery and put it on their relief box outside. One noodles or skyflakes goes a long long way!!

Yes .I remember the Volcano erupted in Iceland. My flight was cancelled for week in UK and the entire Europe. The TV news here shows the eruption of Taal volcano with spectacular ash blown up with lightning, , that everyone here says '' Wow! . Yes the picture is great! not realising what the outcomes, after. You both are lucky that you had seen the amazing place in your first date. Hope everyone are safe in Manila and specially the area near Taal.🙏

I experienced that horrible situation too during Mt.pinatubo explosion, at that time the safety of my family is my priority, we stayed at home despite of the situation, men keep on removing ashfall from our roof, We thank God main eruption lasted for only a day, Praying & hoping for the safety of the affected people, 🙏🙏🙏

My fiance and I visited Taal volcano and walked to the rim of the crater as well. Our first trip together was Taal Volcano. It is very special to us as well. We actually spent 4 days at a resort on the lake. The first thing I thought of was all the fishermen and guides who worked at Taal. All the workers who worked at the resorts who will be without pay... there will need to be lots of help. Then I thought of the horses and other animals who live on the island. All we can do is pray for the best.

Left tagaytay yesterday 4pm, arrived in south Samar 17 hours later, similar to yourself, me and my Filipino fiancé were in the crater last week. Been here in the Philippines last 5 years and never experienced anything like it. Stay safe, and prayers to all in Philippines and Australia 🙏🏻
