Social Issues: Science As A Way of Thinking (Carl Sagan)

The late Carl Sagan elegantly delivers another timeless message in one of his last ever interviews. Famous for speeches like the Pale Blue Dot, Sagan was a world-renowned scientist who also dedicated much of his life to communicating it to the public. He cared deeply about the world we would leave behind to our children, and sadly his message is perhaps even more relevant today. We believe he embodies the spirit of our channel by placing emphasis on the power of thinking deeply about things we come to believe. Convictions without evidence present the greatest danger to humanity, yet it is us who create and fight over these convictions.

It's worse today because it's not a secret, we know that we are ignorant, but we just don't care

What do you think? Is Carl Sagan right? Is this worse today than when he tried to address it? We want to know what you think!

Watch the video: "Frank Peretti sermon the chair part 2". Sagan is mentioned at the 11:40 mark. Then at the 13:47 mark, Peretti asks: "Carl, don’t you know who you are? You’re a zero."
