Two years ago I was walking on Foothill blvd with my dog in Sunland, Ca. As I was walking a black Ford GT passed me the opposite way. I was so shocked and mesmerized to see that car and I saw it turn into the Shell gas station on the corner of Ora Vista and Foothill Blvd. Which btw if you take Ora Vista all the way down it will lead you into the Angeles Crest Forest canyon which a lot of car reviewers use like Matt Farah. Anyway as I walked back towards the Shell and I was approaching the Ford GT to stare at it lo and behold the driver was Jay Leno. He was super cool and talked to me about the car and even took a picture together with my dog which he was absolutely astonished how large he is because he’s a 120lb Bandog. After that I would see him almost every Sunday going into the Canyon with that Ford GT and he would always honk and wave at my dog and I when he passed us on Ora Vista.

When this first came out, everyone complained about it not having a nice sounding V8. I saw one of these randomly drive by once and the guy floored it - it sounded like a loud supercar. It's not a high revving exotic sound but it's good enough, and it looks really great in person. Seeing it at a car show, it was shocking to see how many gaps the car has. From behind, it feels like the middle part is a foot wide and you can see right through it. It definitely stands out.

The wing doesn't drop because it's a safety feature. Ford doesn't want your fingers to get chopped off if you have them under the wing. It will drop when you go up to 15-20 MPH.

Memories of being a little kid into race cars both real slot cars back when the original Ford GT came out. I think back then to race in it class there had to be X number of production street versions sold. So a couple times I remember seeing a original Ford GT. So the Ford GT has a lot of meaning for me.
