All the "Nu-Metal" misinformation people say when talking about bands is fucking ridiculous, it held no fucking water. 
This entire first Papa Roach album, Infest is amazing. LOVEHATETRAGEDY is phenomenal too.Deftones, Tool, Korn & Rage were the 4 bands everyone else was compared to from 1998-2003. Unless you were a band that could open for Cradle of Filth or Dimmu Borgir had opened for your band, and unless everyone in your band had long hair, (no dreads) and you didn't use a high gain amp or distortion pedals, then you were lumped in to this imaginary "Nu-Metal, " psychosis that music critics and the Dream Theatre fan base has conjured out of their assholes.I will give them Crazy Town, Limp Bizkit After their first album, Apartment 26, Alien Ant Farm, Adema, Kittie, Factory 81, Saliva, Evanescence(the rapping in bring me to life, God, shoot me!), Taproot, HED P.E. (still rock), Kid Rock, Ill Nino & Spineshank. Was Sevendust Nu metal? Hell no. Was Mudvayne, absofuckinglutely not. Deftones, is anything the 'Tones did it first with rage and bands subsequently ripped them off. But COME ON, not every band that had a few syncopated lines of lyrics in a couple songs meant they were trying to be Fred Durst or Zach De La Rocha.System of a Down? FUCK NO. Hip Hop isnt in 5/6 timing lol. Bring me the horizon? Fuck no. Black veil brides, no they were wearing diapers in 1999, plus they suck anyway lolLinkin Park's first 2 albums were amazing, Hybrid Theory had like 8 FUCKING RADIO TOP 10 HITS ON IT! hRmm, what else? Slipknot, do I even have to defend them? They're still killing it. Staind, really? Listen to Dysfunction, then come talk to me. Dope, they sing about heroin, jail, cops & girls, not a rap or backwards hat in sight. Static-X....gimmicky hair doesn't make you nu-metal and for the record Static-X kicks ass, RIP Wayne. Phil Anselmo said it best, "Pantera took our Top 12 favorite bands and took elements of each band and flat-out ripped them off to make Pantera. These new bands coming out today are taking their top favorite 2 or 3 bands and just flat out mimicking their favorite band, there's nothing original. It's crap, Jack."Now we have bands that truly ARE Nu metal an no one says DICKS, ahum, Im talking about 5 Finger Death Punch and Hollywood Undead. I really like 5 Fisted Ass Blasters but theyre definitely Nu Metal. Maybe that whole finger pointing game to catagorize bands has just finally died off, lets hope so.

still love their lyrics but they started off with a badass rap/rock blend, , my favorite of the blend've heard
(for those who like to pick comments apart, keep in mind that rap/rock groups include 311, 21pilots, . . . "rap/rock" doesn't mean they're the only genres at play but it is a cross I find pretty interesting, always curious to see artists' take on it
