How to disable the profanity filter in all Source games.

Not sure why the option to uncensor slurs is even there in the first place imo if a person attempts to use a slur their message should just not be sent.

Also just so it's on record this isn't my main steam account I'm recording this on which is why I don't have any stats on tf2. After disabling the filter the first time I couldn't revert it to show what it looked like on my first time visiting the page so I just did it on here instead.

i was told on ingame chat it was on advanced setting and i got to that steam settings page but i didn't knew i had to expand another menu, i just clicked the boxes above that lol, no wonder it didnt work

I think the default setting should have been off so that it would give players the option to turn the profanity filter on rather than the other way around which is what we are seeing now. Steam and TF2 are primarily targeted at teens and adults and in the social world, swearing is viewed as socially acceptable.

Also, I like your video by the way and your video has taught me a bit more about filtering.

EDIT: By socially acceptable, I am not saying it's good nor bad to swear, I am saying that it depends on the social setting and how people view it. I have no problem seeing them nor do I feel shocked, but I will try not to say them that often because it's just a personal thing for me.
